While he was at IBM, he read a copy of my Conceptual Structures book. He didn't use conceptual graphs, but he applied some of the topics in the book to the technology he used to found SAP. He later invited me to visit the research center he founded in Heidelberg. I recommended some issues about ontology, which led him to organize an invited conference on ontology at his center.. Various participants in that conference later subscribed to Ontolog Forum and worked on ISO standards projects for Common Logic and ontology..
